In Loving Memory of Daniel Gamboa Carrillo 

Daniel “Danny” Gamboa Carrillo, age 72, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026. 

He was born on April 3, 1954, in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico. 

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Juan Carrillo; his two younger brothers; Victor Arturo Carrillo, Alejandro Carrillo ; his beloved wife, Hazel (Talachy) Carrillo. 

He is survived by his siblings, Ofelia (Eddie) Valdez, Sally Mann, Victor Carrillo, and Alex Carrillo; his children, Stephanie (Ron) Carrillo, Diana Carrillo, Maria (Hugo) Carrillo, and Juan (Amber) Carrillo; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. 

Danny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, collecting his Eagles, and, of course, cracking jokes. But most of all, he loved playing softball. 

He was an amazing, outstanding, and inspiring softball pitcher! He was devoted to his team and eagerly looked forward to every new season. He was always determined to win and took great pride in competing alongside his teams and “His Guys.” Softball games and practices were something he always looked forward to attending. 

His motto was, “Practice makes perfect!” 

He especially enjoyed reminiscing about the good ol’ days and sharing all the wonderful memories of softball games and tournaments. Those memories, along with the friendships and laughter, will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who shared them with him. 

Though he may be gone from our sight, the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. 

Services will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. 

Rosary: Friday, November 6, at 9:00 AM 

Mass: Friday, November 6, at 10:00 AM 

Danny’s wishes were to be cremated. 

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date so that family and friends can come together to honor and celebrate his life.
