Carolyn Ardene Foley

Carolyn Ardene Foley passed away peacefully at her son’s home on July 26, 2026. She was 81 years old.

Carolyn, who often went by Ardene, was born on December 19, 1944, to Georgia Ruble and Floyd Bower of Hotchkiss, CO. She was raised there and graduated from Hotchkiss High School as a part of the class of 1963. She continued her education and pursued an associate degree from Blair’s Business College in Colorado Springs.

From 1965, she was blessed with four strong boys, all born from St. Francis hospital in Colorado Springs. After her first two sons graduated high school, she relocated to her childhood home, in Hotchkiss, with her two youngest sons. Carolyn remained a member of the Delta County community for many years.

Through the remainder of her life, Carolyn split her time between the western slope and Colorado Springs. The beginning half of her career resume revolved around jobs in the secretarial sector, which included companies like Oxbow Mines and the Delta County school district. Upon reaching her retirement era, Carolyn chose to remain working in various customer service roles. This allowed her to maintain her very active social life.

When she wasn’t working, Carolyn enjoyed sewing crafts, reading, making social connections, and spending time with her ever-growing family. She enjoyed quite a bit of traveling through her lifetime and was blessed to have visited both coasts of the US, Canada, Hawaii, Japan, and the Philippines.

Carolyn is survived by: her youngest brother, Roger Bowers of Nevada; her sons Edward Dean Foley, Charles Shane Foley, Lance Jeffrey Foley, and Trent Floyd Foley; her nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
