Carol went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 1, 2026, at the age of 66, at her home. Her Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on January 10, 2026, at the Bible Center Church in Paonia, CO.

Born in Paonia on January 30, 1959, to Francis (Gilmore) and James Williams, Carol grew up in Paonia and graduated from Paonia High School in 1977. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Steve Jones, on June 4, 1977, at the Bible Center Church.

Carol and Steve were blessed with three children: Robert (born May 14, 1978), Casey (born April 20, 1980), and Katie (born May 5, 1982). Carol dedicated many years to being a stay-at-home mom, raising her children with love and care. At times, she also worked outside the home to help support her family.

A proud resident of Delta County, Carol lived there for most of her life, except for a few years in the 1980s when the family moved to Denver for work. In 2008, after her children were grown, Carol fulfilled a dream she had of owning a craft store. She and Steve remodeled the building at 457 Main in Delta and opened The Scrappy Moose, which she ran until 2012.

In addition to her love for crafting, Carol had a passion for decorating and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She was also deeply involved with her church. Having accepted Christ into her heart in 1974, Carol found joy in serving the Lord. She spent countless hours decorating the church, always choosing a new theme each month, using her talents to create a welcoming space for worship.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Steve; her three children, Robert, Casey, and Katie; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished deeply. She was preceded in death by both her parents and one grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Bible Center Church in Carol’s memory.
