Carl M. Miller passed away in Montrose, CO on 09/17/2025. He was 78 years old.

A memorial service will be held June 20, 2026. Details will be announced at a later date.

Carl was born 12/17/1946 in Delta, CO. He was adopted by A.L. Miller and Etta (Bair) Miller. He grew up in Delta County and graduated from Delta High School.

He served our country in the U.S Army and completed one tour of duty in Viet Nam serving with the 11th A.C.R. Black Horse Squadron providing helicopter support.

He married Shirley Milsaps in Cedaredge in 1972, they had one be son, Cody Miller. They later divorced. He married Debbie Harding at the Wellman Ranch near Cedaredge in 1980. They celebrated 45 years together earlier this year.

Carl and Debbie made the North Fork Valley their home. He worked as a cowboy and as a miner. He enjoyed fishing and riding his side by side exploring new places. He and Debbie made many tripes in Colorado and Utah looking for rocks and historical sites.

He is survived by wife, Debbie, of Rogers Mesa near Hotchkiss, CO, his children; Cody of Milam, TX, Lacey of Aspen/Hotchkiss, CO, and Chase of Lafayette, CO. He has three grandchildren: Dustin Miler, Kyler Katzenberger, and Monroe Miller and one great granddaughter, Saige Katzenberger. He is also survived by stepsisters; Donna Rohwer, Pat Tuck, Janet Stewart, Shirley Roberts and stepbrother Alen Milsaps.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, A.I. and Etta Miller, stepmother Margery Miller, and cousin and very best friend Jess Miller. He was also preceded in death by brother-in-law Milton Harding.

In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made in his memory to Hotchkiss Senior Citizens, POP BOX 369, Hotchkiss, CO 81419.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
