Keller, Barbara L, passed away on August 30, 2025, surrounded by her family, at Montrose Regional Health. She was 78 years old.
Her memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at Montrose Christian Church.
Barbara was born on December 11th, 1946, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Mother Elaine Simon and Father Harold Mark Champion. She attended college at the Western University of Michigan and graduated with a Bachelor’s in education.
Barbara met Edward Dennis Keller in Germany, and they were married on December 22nd in Michigan, 1972. They celebrated 45 years together before her husband passed in February 2018.
Barbara made her way to Montrose County, making Montrose her home. She has been a resident of the Western Slope for 52 years. Her chosen career path was children’s education and children’s ministry. When not working, Barb enjoyed studying her bible, all sorts of crafts and art projects, puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren. One of the most memorable things about Barb was her Faith and dedication to Jesus Christ. She was a true example of a follower of Christ and touched many lives through her ministry.
Barbara is survived by Her Sons, Mark Keller of CO, and Kevin Keller of AZ; Her Brothers and Sisters, Ken Champion of MI, Judy Smith of OR, and Sally Coburn of MI; and Her Grandchildren, Josh, Rachel, and Matthew, Collin, and Jini and Sini.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elaine Champion; Her Husband, Edward Dennis Keller; and Her Son, Craig Keller (survived by Esther).
