Anita Mae Weller

Anita Mae Weller passed away at her home after a lengthy battle with Huntington’s Disease. She was 78 years old.

Anita was born August 1, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, to Donita (Campbell) Hess and Wesley Hess. She grew up and attended schools in the Denver area.

She met the love of her life, Charlie Weller, and was married August 7, 1966. For almost 60 years they made their home in Paonia and had one daughter, Joan (deceased). Anita worked in packing sheds then eventually became a CNA and later a caregiver for her Aunt Ruth.

Anita is survived by her husband, Charlie; four sisters, Sherry (Denver), Debbie (Delta), Tammy (Crawford), and Billie (Arizona); two brothers, Ronnie (Las Vegas, NV), and Larry (Denver); and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Joan, her parents, stepdad, two sisters, and two nieces.

No services will be held per Anita’s request.
