IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Angeline Lavhone
Betts-McCulloch-Greenwood
August 19, 1933 – January 8, 2026
Angeline Lavhone (Betts) (McCulloch) Greenwood, 92, passed away January 8, 2026, in Montrose County, Colorado.
Angie was born in Ridgeway, Iowa on August 19, 1933, to William & Ida (Ofstedahl) Betts. She loved telling people that she was ‘number 11 of 12 children’. She grew up helping where needed and took care of her nephews and nieces.
After graduating from Cresco High School in 1952 she moved to Rochester, MN and waitressed at the Hotel Carlton. In 1954, she met and married Ray McCulloch. They spent their first decade farming and then changed to city life and settled in the Columbia Heights, MN area. After their divorce, she went back to school to earn her Cosmetology License.
Angie was a very creative and talented person. She had artist skills from sketches to paintings, to arts & crafts. A clever seamstress, tasteful decorator, and a natural at cutting & styling hair and setting perms. She would whip up tasty meals on a dime and indulge in baking bread and desserts. Her fashion style leaned towards fun and youthful looks, just like her personality.
She took pride in running her home and raising children; she continued this as her children started their own families and would help with her grandchildren whenever needed. In retirement she continued helping with grandchildren and enjoyed helping Mary with her business. She loved to dance to big band music and learned country line dancing during retirement. She was happy to ‘snowbird’ to Mesa, AZ and loved gathering with friends at VFW for dances, hosting Tuesday pizza parties, and spending time with family and friends.
Preceded in death by her son Joseph McCulloch; grandchildren Crystal Ann & Daniel Joseph.
Survived by daughters Linda (Bob) Kiltie, Julie (Richard) Hoffman, Mary (Tom) Lauer, Shelly De Leon. Grandchildren April, Brynte, Rob, Justin, Sam, Ryan, Andrew (Genesis), Alex (Beth), Tyler (Maddy), Ethan, Javonne (Britney), Gianni; 11 Great-grandchildren; brother Charles Betts and many nieces and nephews.
Angie will be remembered for her caring nature, zest for life, and love for her family. She often said, ‘treat each day as if it’s our birthday and celebrate life’.
