Amelia was born on July 10th, 1992 at the Montrose hospital. She passed away on July 16th, 2025 at the age of 33, at the Montrose hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26th, 2025, at Circle 3 Cowboy Fellowship, the church she attended. The church is located at 62885 LaSalle Rd, in Montrose, CO.
Amelia was born on July 10th, 1992 at the Montrose hospital. At less than 2 weeks old she was placed in to the foster care of David and Grace Steele in Montrose, CO. At the age of 2 1/2 she was adopted in to the family. Amelia grew up in Montrose and graduated from Montrose High School in 2010.
Amelia lived her entire life on the western slope of Colorado. In her early 20's she began living with host homes in various locations on the western slope. She started with community options at the age of 20, where she worked at the 3M factory in Montrose, and the community options store, Second Impressions. She then entered the Ariel Clinical Services program located in Delta, CO. During her years with community options and Ariel, she has donated countless hours to local food banks, Sharing Ministries, and Salvation Army. Her hobbies included, paracord crafts, horseback riding, coloring, listening to music, reading her Bible, and spending time with her niece, Emma.
Amelia is survived by her father, David Steele, sister, Corrie Black and husband, Woody Black, brother, Peter Steele, brother, Camrin Steele, and niece Emma Black.
Amelia was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Steele, and brother Joel Steele.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Amelia's name to the Circle 3 Cowboy Fellowship, per her father's request.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
