Virginia "Kay" Thatcher

December 12, 1945 — August 17, 2020

Virginia Kay Thatcher was born on Dec. 12, 1945, to John and Viginia Bussell.

She passed from this earth on Aug. 17, 2020, at 74 years young. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest L. Thatcher; son, William Moore; and grandson, Tyler Spell. She is survived by her children, Peggy Spell, Jim Moore, Wanda Holland and Donnie Thatcher; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kay was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always with a twinkle in her eye, a listening ear and some sort of sweet snack at the ready.

A caring and considerate friend, she always had a friendly smile and kind word for everyone. She enjoyed going to lunch or dinner with her friends, trading Christmas and birthday cards, gifts, along with recipes and crochet patterns.

She worked in the healthcare field for many years and was very active in the Emblem Club, serving as both the local president and state president for a time.

She was a loyal member of the Presbyterian Church of Delta.

Her steadfast fight against Parkinson’s was courageous and inspiring. She fought to the very last. She is a brave example of how far sheer will and determination can take you no matter what situation you are faced with.

Kay’s good nature and sharp wit will be missed terribly by all that knew her.
