Gene Albert Grange passed away September 23, 2020, at the age of 83. He was born November 6, 1937, in Woody Creek, CO to Albert and Laura (Letey) Grange. He graduated from Basalt High School and attended Mesa State College.
Gene married Elizabeth “Betty” Spaulding in 1958 and they had four children. Gene was a hard worker throughout his life. He worked for Clymer’s Dairy as a delivery truck driver, Aspen Ski Company as a mechanic, and retired from Stutsman Gerbaz Earthmoving as a heavy equipment operator.
Gene divorced Elizabeth in 1982, and married Marie Jasmin in 1984. They left Basalt and moved to Hotchkiss where Gene enjoyed watching football, irrigating, putting up hay, and taking care of his Registered Black Angus livestock. He later divorced Marie in 2018.
Gene is preceded in death by his father Albert & mother Laura; sister Alice Bright; and brothers Sam Grange and Marvin Grange. He is survived by his children Bruce (Cheryl) Grange, Laura (Kirby) Pulliam, Andy (Cheryl) Grange, & Heidi (Andy) Vidmar; 9 Grand Children and 16 Great Grand Children.
