Claude W. Springer Sr.

Claude W. Springer, Sr. entered into God’s presence on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Montrose Memorial Hospital. Claude was 79 years old.
A private funeral service was held for the family at the Taylor Funeral Service chapel in Delta, A celebration of Claude’s life will be held later this year.
Claude Springer, Sr. was born in Delta on July 7, 1941 to Daniel P. Springer Sr. and Rosalie M. (Boss) Springer. Claude grew up and received his education at Delta High School with the class of 1959. With the exception of 10 years spent in Las Vegas, NV Claude spent his entire life in Delta.
On September 14, 1963 Claude married Janette E. Burkdoll at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta, CO. Together they raised three children: Claude, Jr. “Slugger”, Janeen, and Cheri. Claude worked in the construction field as a heavy equipment operator.
Claude was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta, and belonged to the Delta Elks Lodge #1235 and I.O.U.E. #9 and #12. His interests included bowling, playing cards, fishing and hunting, and he coached softball. But his greatest love were his family members.
Claude’s survivors include his wife Janette, of Delta; son Claude W. Springer, Jr. (Slugger) of Delta; daughters Janeen Springer and Cheri Reece (J.R.) also of Delta; two brothers: Dan Springer of Delta and Ted Springer (Anita) of Mesa, AZ; sister Tresa “Terry” (Jeff Switzer) of Colorado Springs; 5 grandchildren: Jordy, Khyrsten, Courtney, Jaren, and Jenna; and 6 great grandchildren: Antonio, Gabriel, Zoe, Jack, Max & Kayleigh. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, brother Timothy and sisters, Patricia Smith and Jeannie Stephenson and a God son Randall Springer.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
